Palm Sunday
Jesus he rode, oh Jesus he rode
Into Jerusalem on some kind of goat
The crowd was waving with palm tree leaves
And placed them on the ground as he upheaved
The people knew him, they knew it would pass
Because the prophets had foretold that he wide ride in on some kind of ass
The Jews the yelled, they yelled for Messiah
Though his name was Jesus, it was an alias
For the man, the man who would bring forth peace
From the Romans, the Romans, whose injustice increased
The people knew him, they knew it would pass
Because the prophets had foretold that he wide ride in on some kind of ass
Jesus rode – with peace he rode
Into Jerusalem on some kind of goat
On a goat – yes, he rode
On a goat
Into Jerusalem on a goat
Jesus he set the mule out of motion
And went to the temple to stop the commotion
This he soon would grow to regret
For the pharasees would not let the new guy forget
The people knew him, they knew it would pass
Because the prophets had foretold that he would ride in on some kind of ass
Now it was clear, the man was in trouble
His list of enemies was about to double
A conspiracy born, would soon turn to a farce
When Judas he aided some men with Kippahs
The pharasees used up a poor man, a liar
30 silver coins would mean the death of Messiah.

Maundy Thursday (Gethsemane)
When they leave this table sheet
There'll be whispers of what was left
Born when Jesus bathed the feet
So hope would never be bereft
Even when backs have been turned
In the bitter end and grief
Forgiveness will be the lesson learned
Absolution has been reached
Behold the anxiety, a fate so grim
A downward gaze his face does hide
Listen, silenced is the hymn
Jesus in his dad confides
“This cup: bitter, full and sour
Let it vanish, let it be gone
But if this must be my hour
Then so it be, thy will be done”

Maundy Thursday
Remember this sacrificial lamb
Remember this living bread
With it falter all the damned
All our misery and dread
And drink your wine, but remember the blood
From which that gift did come
Remember the pact that was made with God
When my judgement sees me done
The shepherd will be hunted down
The flock it will be spread
Galilee will see once more my crown
Resurrected from the dead
Peter refused to believe the words he spake
And said out loud and clear
If I have to die for my brother's sake
I'll do it now and here
But at the first of the rooster's crows
Peter said: “I understand not”
At the second crow, his weakness did grow
“No, I know him not”
But worse yet, it was that night
The priests knew, it was too late
It turned out Jesus was just right
A kiss did seal his fate
By one betrayed, by one bereft
For money and from fear
Captured by soldiers, no one left
To shout: “flee, over here!”
A gruesome and babaric tale
Would turn to celebration
The pharasees, oh they did fail
The prohpecy swept the nation
